Chapter III - Flexible office

Arriving home, John immediately started to fill out the reports. Reports that explain the results from his visit. This is not the funniest thing in the world but it keeps a good record of everything and you never know when you need it again. Having a telephone-conference in one ear and punk-rock in the other makes the brain confused and that keeps the focus on the written word. Not so simple, it takes some time of training.

It happens, that you wake up in the night and throw down a few words quickly to the nearest paper, sometimes on the edge of a newspaper and the words just beams of sense! But in the morning: the same word does not say anything anymore, doodles, slips of the tongue. Or fragments of the great nocturnal style that drew past?

It feels good to be home.

Chapter II - Victory Day

After work John is heading back to Bucharest and decides to go for a walk.

For every step he takes he really hears the voice of history cry out from the walls that he passes. And as he stops at a red light, he closes his eyes and just try to sort out the different noises from the surrounding traffic and big city activities. So much future dreams mixed with depressed frustrations. Men working with hammers and pickaxes to pull up asphalt, building a new hope. You can see in their eyes that this will never be finished, this will continue long after their deaths. But they feel that they are contributing and in some way also re-writing the history as they erase tracks and signs from the past. Maybe this is the same feeling for the people who once built the great Pyramids of Giza?

John suddenly gets stopped by a passing woman, he can see the desperation in her eyes but can not understand what she wants. She yells at him and he slowly continue to walk as he see the woman reaching out for other passing people on the street. He feels small and helpless in these kind of situations.

Passing the avenues and reaching the Arch of Triumph there were flags put up everywhere, flags that symbolize the end of the second World War. The war ended today, 8th of May and the official Victory Day has been set to 9th of May. So tomorrow there will be big celebrations all over Europe, mainly the eastern parts.

Happy Victory Day!

Chapter I - The start of something new.

This week reporting directly from the heart of Bucharest, capitol of Romania in eastern Europe.

John wakes up with a sudden bounce and the sound of squeaking brakes.

Directly when he hit the ground of a new territory he feels that tickle inside. The butterflies awakes.
An adventure is about to start, and he has no idea how the story ends.

The sun is shining as he leaves the small aircraft through that narrow staircase and walks towards the bus.

He know that this will take some time, always some slow moving persons who could not get their asses out of the seats in time. This kind of stress is not very good to John, he knows, but still.
-HOW HARD CAN IT BE?!?

This travel had been planned by other people so John´s mission was to spot that sign with his name on. Simple task you might think. But in these kind of countries no tasks are really that simple.

Anyhow, the pick-up guy and John find each other and the journey begins. Luckily this guy speaks really good English so the conversation is a little bit more that just about the weather. The hotel is situated close to the center of Bucharest so it takes about half an hour to travel. John notice how the traffic rules in this country are followed. They are simply not. Followed. Well after checking in to the old fashioned hotel John can finally get some time to get some work done. The inbox is cleaned after just one hour and by adding the hours together (CET +2h) he realize that the clock is only half past five here. Time to get a bite!

The lobbyist is recommending a restaurant nearby where he can find some local food combined with a touch of Italian style. He decides to take the easy way out and order a Pizza Diavolo with fresh Rocket Salad on top. Fantastic!
